What questions do you have?

Thank you for your interest in our tasty, chemical free, grass fed beef and chicken. Below are some frequently asked questions. Please take a moment to read this page and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

TO RECEIVE EARLY ADVICE ON OUR BEEF SUPPLY

Q: Can I order a forequarter?

A: No fore/hind quarters are not available.  Only Equal Quarters or a full side.

Q: How do you know the abattoir gives you the right beef?

A: We attend the abattoir as often as we can to be present when our animals are processed.  Also we are well known to several of the staff and the owners at the plant –  they know that we don’t use any chemicals on our animals.  To assist us they put our beef through either very first run for the day or at worst they go straight after a couple of certified animals.  We can then track back through paper work etc. to look at times and weights.

Q: Can I get bones?

A: Yes, we have a few choices of bones available for our customers:

– Soup bones – small amount of smaller bones

– Dog bones – mixed sizes of whatever is available

– Bones for broth – most the bones available from your quarter.

Remember some weight is always lost to sawdust – literally bone fragments created by using the band saw.

Please make your selection of bones when ordering.

Q: Do you deliver to the Fraser Coast?

A: Yes, we have worked with our freight company and delivery is available to Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.  Addresses do need to be town oriented due to time constraints, but if you are out of the town area the drivers will call you will an ETA and meet up at a pre-arranged spot.

Q:  What goes into the sausages?

CGL BEEF is pleased to say that we make our sausages without any artificial colours flavours or additives. The list the ingredients is below. We also add a bit of extra spicy ‘yum’ to the mix.

You may have noted in our recent newsletters that these changes mean that you need to contribute to the butcher’s role, by providing some extra time once you get your corned beef home. Please leave it a week or so in the fridge to allow for flavour enhancement.
